We all share the same old memory that we grew up watching Thundercats, Woody Woodpecker, Mickey Mouse, Roadrunner and Ninja Turtles. We would hardly forget the moment when we get our vaccination and everybody is so afraid and asking each other for the aftermath. Times when the teachers who would want to punish us must use yellow rulers to hit us on our palms. And the boys use it to show
"power" when teacher is not around. We will as well deathly remember that a bowl of mee soup or some soup only cost 1 dollar at the school canteen. However, we also loves to visit some sundry shop near the school or to the 'roti' man waiting outside our schools so that we can buy junk food like mamee, ding dang with some toys in it, ice-cream and we would play games like monopoly, uno, old maid, and all other
card games like that. Another fun time would be during Pendidikan Jasmani. The boys would play football while the girls would play netball. And it would be like we were playing in the world cup. However, for the not so active, they also enjoyed having 'book games' where we would use exercise book to draw and ask our friends to play. Do you remember the colourful ice-cream tubes which are actually ice and colouring that are sold for 10 to 20 cents where you usually bite off the top to glup it down?
Can you recall the moment when we're waiting for school bus and some waiting
for parents. We'll beat the long wait and the rush in the morning by doing naughty things such as folding papers so small to make 'lastik' and shoot each other. And throwing chalks in class during free period.
Back then, when Michael Jackson was just turning white. And still had his albums coming out. Compared to CD's, we were listening to tapes that sold for RM9.90.
Are we all getting older or what?
Last but not least, you would think of all the happy & sad memories that you have
experienced when you were still a high school student and would think of sharing every moment we spent in CHS with our future grandchild. I'm sure they would have a huge smile on their face after hearing it.
Thanks CHS for giving us all the good old memories a worth to remember.
Thanks for giving us a chance to be educated in such a good environment compare to the undeveloped country.
Thanks for giving us a whole range of friends and friendly and yet dedicated teachers.
Without you, 5p2 of 2005 will never exist and we may be uneducated.
Without you, we may not meet each other.
It is said that fate bring friends together, but we say it is you, CHS that bring us together.
THANK YOU AND FAREWELL.
Love,
The loyal student of CHS, Lai Yin
p/s: this may sound weird because I only write a dedication to my high school after graduating from CHS for almost 2 years. I was helping my sister to prepare her speech for her graduation day and hence it triggers my feeling towards CHS. So, I decided to write a dedication for the ever famous Catholic High School of Petaling Jaya. May CHS celebrate their 100 years anniversary and still counting.
