The Dark Knight Rises

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

So I get a free movie ticket for the new batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. I'm somehow having mix feelings right now.

I'm happy and excited because, (1) the movie ticket is free!! (2) the cinema is at KLCC!!! (3) I can go shopping after the movie!!! YAY!!!

HOWEVER, I'm not excited because, (1) the last action movie I watched (Iron man 2), I fall asleep in the cinema (2) I'm going by LRT.

Why can't it be comedy like How I Met Your Mother The Movie, or Family Guy The Movie, or South Park Grown-Up or something like that? You know what I mean right!!

Oh well, lets hope that I'll have an awesome time. And lets hope that I'll get good company on that day.

Love,
Nichole

Choir Practice

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

----
Fact of the Day:
Atlanta makes it against the law to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole or street lamp.
----

Yes I'm in the choir group for Aberystwyth MNight 2010.
And yes I can sing!! Well, may be not a very good singer but hey, I can sing alright!

The very first practice. Is a total mess.
We're performing 3 songs.

First song, One Malaysia by AMP all stars.

Nice song huh. But when it come to us, we did even better.
We can all sing so well in verse 1 and chorus. And we screw up the tamil and chinese part.
So call chinese and indian people. Well done man. Now I regret not do well in my chinese paper. Not really true. Ehehehehheheh....

Second song, Sejahtera Malaysia, the Malaysia's patriotic song.

Remember listening to this song everyday after TV2 evening news. It kinda annoys me to some point at times. However, this time, I am going to freaking sing it, and it definitely feel different. This is a very high key song. And half of the girls can't sing to the key. AND I CAN FREAKING SING TO THAT KEY!!! Of course the first few try I kinda break the key, until I found a way to sing to that key. WoooHoooo....

Third and the most important song, Negaraku. Malaysia's national anthem.

Well, this song, every Malaysian been singing it for more than a million times. Every Malaysian should know how to sing. However, the very 'patriotic' me, kinda forgot the lyrics. Screwed up the song for the first few times and thankfully no one realize it.

All and all, the practice went well.
Can't wait for the next practice.
:)

Love,
Nichole

p/s: the first and 2nd song been haunting me since then. Been listening to it and my brain keeps playing it.

The Aberystwyth Attraction

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

----
Word of the Day:
Onde. Waves in Italian.
----

The Aberystwyth main attraction, the strong crazy wind and waves.
Although they are strong and crazy, but it is perfectly safe.
I was there witness the waves one fine day and took a picture of it. But too bad my camera too cheap to take such great scenery.

Perhaps this video will do better job than my crappy photos.

How was it? Awesome isn't it?

Song of the Week: Amiga Fiel

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

Introduced by Bayzel.
From what he told me, it's a Latin song, but I'm not sure.
I find it very nice and pleasant listening, so I thought of introducing it here.

Enjoy.

I heart Digi

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

----
Network provider of the Year:
DIGI
----

I am a hardcore fan of Digi.
My very first mobile number is Digi's number.
Up till now, I'm still using Digi and will not change even if how lucrative the other network plans are.
Reason?
Because Digi's advert team is the best and most creative.

They have the yellow quacking duck, the Fuiyoh(TM) Plan, the MTV plan (Long long time ago, during my form 1 to 2 time) etc.

Now, they have this new feature. You can use your MSN anytime anywhere with your mobile phone. All you got to do is send 'MSN' to 2016 and voila, you are ready to connect to your fellow MSN kaki even when you're in the middle of a boring date. Its great idea isn't it. You can bitch about your boring date with your BFF immediately using MSN on Digi.

And, LM send me this link that inspire me to blog bout it.

Here, watch it. Its really nice and creative.

Well, I'm one crazy fella who cant live without MSN/Adium. And I constantly checking my PDA for latest emails and check out if anyone online. With this Digi new plan, it ease my daily, no, it should be hourly crave of Window Live, eg, hotmail and MSN.

MOoooooooooooM........ Can I use this new feature of Digi? Please please please....

Okay, got to run.

Love,
Nichole

p/s: This post is not paid to write. Is out of my kind voluntary and loyalty towards Digi.

Pride and Prejudice vs Bride and Prejudice

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

----
Movie of the Day:
Lake House
----

Remember I told you I watched this Bollywood movie call the Bride and Prejudice in the Sydney's Merriot Hotel room after my dinner about 8 months ago?

Well, I think this movie is so tiring to watch. Bloody 3 hours with sudden dance scene and random sing-along-with-everyone. So typical Bollywood movie. And, being the typical me, I jump to the conclusion that, based on the similarity of the movie's name, Pride and Prejudice is going to be a pain in the ass movie as well. And hence I put no interest in it and I do not even bother to know about it.

Until recently, LM stress so much about some really good movies and keep bugging me to give it a try, including Pride and Prejudice(PnP). My previous assumption stand so strong that I still hesitate. Yesterday, I was in the mid of my date with Mr Tort, I got so stressed and I so wanted to give myself a break from all the words that I've been facing for the pass 5 hours.

So, I waited till middle of the night, where everyone in the middle of their sweetest dreams, I put on the movie and my head-phone. I fell in love with the movie almost immediately. The scene is so spectacular. The orchestra symphony plays along with the plot behind the movie, so softly but yet every notes flew into my ears so clearly.

The story, main plot, is about the same as Bride and Prejudice (BnP). But, it is yet so different. To name a few, BnP's time scene is modern, as for PnP is the older one. BnP is mainly in India's city and some scene in the States. PnP mainly in Heartfordshire and London, England, I think. I am very bad in giving words to the movie. What I could say is, my previous assumption has vanished. I am so in love in the movie. I even have this secret tiny crave of learning the piano and living in their house and that year.

Towards the end of the movie where Elizabeth getting the consent of her father to get engage with Mr Darcy, the words Mr Bennet (Eliz's father) spoke to his daughter, it is so full of tender and father love. I got so touched and I tears when Eliz kissed Mr Bennet's forehead and ran out of the room. The orchestra symphony played during the credit roll, got me into more tears. As to my knowledge, none of anyone I know cried after watching this movie. Guess I am a little to sensitive am I?

What I'm trying to say is, watching BnP makes me laugh so hard at it's sudden dance and group song, plus the hell tiring 3 hours,  it is such a pain to watch. Except for the main plot, it is such irony as compared to PnP.

So, I hereby announce my future plan, firstly, the moment I got the chance, I am so going to attend the orchestra performance as often as I can. Secondly, I will, again, pick up my piano class from where I dropped it. It won't be too late as long as I live. When there's a will, there's a way they say. But this plan of mine will have to wait till I finish my LLB, came back from UK, got myself a 9-5 job and with enough-to-cover-all-my-plan salary.

Wish me luck people.

And, go watch Pride and Prejudice. But if you insist, or have a little too much extra time to spend, go ahead and give Bride and Prejudice a try.

Love,
Nichole

The Irony Proposal

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

----
Odd Spot of the Day:
A skunk can be detected by a human over one kilometer away.
----

Compare this

"You may know that I have know you for some considerable time during my visit... The impression you have given me is always... What I'm trying to say is that I... I have a respectable property of two thousand a year, in addition to even great expectations as Lady Gresham's heir, to which it may be indelicate to refer. It's yours. If we marry, all of it, yours."

To this

"I have no money, no property, I am entirely dependent upon the bizarre old lunatic, my uncle. I cannot yet offer marriage. But you must know what I feel. I'm yours. I'm yours, I'm yours heart and soul."

How irony but yet lovely in their unique way. Which would you prefer?

If you chose the latter, you'll love Tom Lefroy. If you chose the earlier, Mr Winsley.

As for me, I wish for something less extreme as these but yet the affection and sincerity that prevail.

Love,
Nichole

p/s: The above proposals are quoted from the movie, Becoming Jane. With the aid and referral of THIS link. Credit to HBO to showcase this movie, LM to watches this movie and recommend it to me.

Song of the Week

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

How is it?
Personal opinion... I think he's voice could do million of jazz songs.
He's so Michael Buble to me.
And, his Michael Buble can kill!!!

However, I still think that there's something lacking in he's singing skill. Perhaps some classes or tuning needed. And I believe, he can make it big if he had fine tuned and excel the skill.

Let me tell you more about the person behind this voice.
He is once a model, he is a French lecturer, he do opera, chinese opera to be exact, he's a law scholar and he swear in the court, moot court to be exact. And, he's my dear friend Justin Steven Lim (used to be Justin Astonia Lim). Best part is, he always show his best to others. I mean fashion sense. He also influence people to realise that one can be fashionable too.

Get to know him and you'll love him. At least LM does. Upon first meeting him. And my love here does not mean sexually kind of love. But friendship kind of love. Because he's belong to someone already. Someone he love sooooo much. Am I right my friend...

There're more song and I actually intend to upload the latest 2 songs he sent me but for some reason both blogger and you tube denied the audio format.

Anyway, here's some videos of his performance. Enjoy...

Crave for more?

Malaysian DreamGirl cycle 2 Preview

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

----
Joke of the Day:
Q: Why does a penguin's tummy is white while other part black?
A: Because it's short flipper arm could not reach other part during shower.
----

I've watched the first 2 episodes of MDG2 last few days.
I laughed my pants off... Not literally...
No doubt that the video quality is so much better as compared to last season.
Credit to the producer...!!!

Anyway, it is so funny as it did cure my emoness...
Gosh... I wonder if these model-wanna-be actually know models other than Amber Chia, Elaine Daily, Tyra Bank and for those who watches TV, Carmen Soo...
If you are smart enough or rather rajin enough, these girls can actually go google some names or either go visit http://www.andrewsmodels.com/ and get some names, to impress Andrew the judge!!!

As for those girls who brought along some of their photos. What they can do is, invest in a better quality photos. Go get it from the professional's studio. If these girls really so dying to be a model, they will still need a proper studio photos for their portfolio, instead of those photo taken by themselves, with the help of mirror or web cam.

Their selling point. I realise a must ask question for these girls will be 'what's your selling point?'. Some of them ignore the question and answer some other irrelevant stuff. I wonder, they do not have a selling point or they do not understand the question posted to them. For those who manage to give an answer, most of them, as to my own personal opinion, no harsh feelings, have better selling point as to their own answer. Example, there's this girl, she says her selling point will be her hair, but, personally, I think her smile and face shape are much attractive than her hair. Anyway, this is just my personal opinion. May be the judges look it in a different way. I am just a lay man in the fashion world remember?

One last point to talk bout. Their clothing. Eheheheheh....
I wouldn't say I dress so... gorgeously...
But, some of these girls' dressing, is just too painful to watch.
There's this girl, the one that Andrew the judge told her not to waste her own time and their time, guess you'll know who if you watched the video, her dressing, one word, CRAP!! And this girl, so overly dressed, I am so speechless. I realise, in this season's auditions, most of the girl go for safer route, t-shirt and jeans. I am a great fan of smart casual, so, those who goes slightly formal (not too overly formal) and smart casual, I'll give them a better merit points. Not that I am a judge or what, but hey!!! I'm going to sms and vote okay!!

I expect great improvement this season as compared to last's. I don't blame the producer for last season's sucky-ness, go watch American Next Top Model first season, it is pain in the ass as well. So, show me some improvement!! No matter the model's quality or it the activity's quality. I WANT IMPROVEMENT IN A WHOLE!!! Okay, guess I have no stand to say this right... I'll shut up than. In case people start hating me.

Tomorrow episode 3... oh yea..

Love,
Nichole

Movie Review: The Love Guru

0 Humble Opinion to The Royal Highness

----
Movie of the Day:
THE LOVE GURU!!!
----

Director: Marco Schnabel
Writer: Mike Myers, Graham Gordy
Release Date: 20 June 2008 (USA)
Plot: Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco), the star player of the Toronto Maple Leafs, is suffering from stress because his wife, Prudence Roanoke (Meagan Good), has left him for Jacques "Le Coq" Grandé (Justin Timberlake). The stress causes his hand to shake, which affects his hockey performance. Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) enlists the support of Guru Maurice Pitka (Mike Myers) to help Darren with his stress so that the team can hopefully break their losing streak. In addition to getting a considerable payment, Pitka would be invited to Oprah Winfrey's show, which he hopes would help him become the #1 guru, a place currently held by Deepak Chopra. Pitka succeeds, but feels no need anymore to become #1, more important is his love for Bullard. However, in connection with a vow Guru Tugginmypudha gave him a chastity belt. He returns to him to have it removed. Tugginmypudha agrees that it can be removed now, and explains how to do that; to Pitka's surprise no key is needed.

Cast:

Photos:

Personal rating: 7/10

Plain funny with lack of sense. I have no idea what is the Guru's teaching and also have no idea what he is doing. But it is so freaking funny. Those who seeking for action movie or horror movie, hands off. Those who have hard time dealing with humor, back off. Those who are realistically person, forget it. Those who hates comedian, like my parents, just ignore this movie. But, if you share the same personality as I am, love Peter Russel, Ross Noble and random stuff, grab your seat and pop-corn man!!!

Love,
Nichole
