I've started my course last week. I'm quite upset with the campus. This is my old choice but no doubt that their academic route provide are good. Good thing I'll only be in this freaking campus for less than a year, or I'll really die. So everybody, please please please PLEASE pray that I'll do well in the exams.
So let's start with transport. There's plenty of parking available at Help main campus, and it's RM3 per entry only. Just like what they've quote, the cheapest parking fare you could get in Kuala Lumpur. BUT, my classes are all located at the lousy Wisma Help. What I do is park at the main campus and takes their shuttle bus to the Wisma. It only took us 5 minutes from main campus to Wisma. Last Tuesday was officially my 1st day and I almost fall in the bus. Reason? The bus is so sardine-packed. All the sits are occupied and the driver still accepting passenger. So I end up standing and holding on nothing. The driver are far worst than LM. He sudden breaks like no body's business. The bus ride after class was better as I manage to get a sit but I knocked my head on the stupid hand grill thingy. Argh… hate busses but I HAVE to take them.
Another problem, Food. If I tell you that there's not much food available there, I'm lying. There are so many restaurants and cafeterias. However, the minimum cost to have a meal is 7 dollars, where you have 2 doughnuts and a cup of tasteless coffee ONLY. Yea, you may say that I could have mamak right? After walking from Wisma to the bus stop, waiting for eternity under the sun for the freaking bus and sardine-bus ride, will you still have your meal at an air-cond-less restaurants? I don't know about you but I'm sure I won't. So, Help-ians who happen to be reading this entry, can you kindly please intro me places where I get to have cheap and nice meal with air-conditioned? Anyway, I don't feel good after having the doughnut. I feel like puking for the whole 2 hours lecture. Good thing I did not.
The building there is the biggest problem. Wisma's lift takes eternity to reach 7th floor. And it's always full. And Wisma is such an old building where their ground floor smells like the unwashed toilet. We pay approximate 16K for such a service. Sigh. Both my lecture and tutorial are in the same lecture hall. However, it's not really a proper lecture hall. It's a classroom-converted hall. And the air-cond is not working well. Their corridor worst, they don't even have air-cond or fan. Their computer room's computers are so limited. There's only about 10 to 15 computer are available only. Their table and chairs are cacated!!!
The lecturers were fine. My contract's lecturer is such a hottie. She's pretty and she's smart!! Loves her. But this is only for time being. I may not like her as I do now in the future. My constitutional & Admin's lecturer is a weirdo. He look like a nerd and he uses typical Malaysian's English with all the '-lah', 'walauweh' and Malaysian's all time favorite '-wan'. A classmate of mine who is from Kenya asked me what's 'walauweh' and '-lah'. It seriously causes my brain to think hard for a good definition to explain to that poor guy. I don't think a lecturer should use such English to lecture us. And he quoted 'my name is Mr Mark Goh. You could call me by Mr Mark Goh or Mr Goh. No Mark. I'm your lecturer not your friend. Please remain distance between lecturer and students.' What kind of lecturer will say this to their students??!!! He's weird. His assignment's rule is like as if asking us to publish a book!! Damn him!! My criminal lecturer is the best!! She litigates for about 8 years till end of last year. And now she owns a law firm. She's so successful. I can see myself in few years time in her. Hopefully. And she's my legal skills lecturer as well. JOY!!! My legal system lecturer was okay. Not much to comment on. And she gave as homework already. It's just the second lecture class!!! Oh well, lets get started.
Classmates are the important element to bring up the class. My classmates were eventually okay. There's a Kenya guy, an African girl, a Mauritius babe and a Labuan stick-man. There's a guy call Kenny who I think he do look like Kennysia, he's 25 this year and he's from Melbourne. I know!! Melbourne is the bestest city!! He did his high school there than involve in real estate and property for few year. Than he wanted to better educate himself. And thus here he is at Help law program. There's this chick just finished her foundation year at Perth. So nice right, jealous-nya. She look so smart to me. Oh well, everyone look smart to me except for *coff coff*. Than there's this 'Chindian' who can speak better mandarin than Roxanne, she's so hot and friendly. The chunnest person in my class I'll say its William's friend, the one with caps and shades on in the dimly lit building. He and his legalized-weapon-company. He's so irritating.
Well, these two weeks were orientation week. Although our normal lecture still on, but we barely have everything yet. This coming Wednesday is the slave auction thing. I think there are 10 people from my class sign up for this auction. Out of the 10 in the list, 6 of us were from PB3. It's quite obvious who did not sign up right, our Ms Michelle…..!!! Anyway, there are only 2 participants from another class. So not sporting. One of the students wanted to redraw somore. Anyway, Louisa's Gary was in. so I call it unlucky especially today's incident. I was happen to be standing beside Gary when my senior were briefing us about the auction, than I took my senior's number and ask Pui Yee what's his name by pointing my senior. May be my finger were cacated or Pui Yee were so blur that she mistaken that she though I'm asking for Gary's name. She kind said it loudly that he's Gary. Than the smart ass Mr Gary turn and look at us like I'm interested. I than say to Pui Yee, 'Not him la. I don't bother to know his name. I want the senior's name.' Oh well, I sound mean right, but I have to do that ever after Pui Yee told me how Gary stalk at Louisa. The theme for this auction is call glamorous slave. It sounds so glamorous. And our master who bid for us will have to pay for our food. YAY!!! However, the bid starts from 10 cents and up to the maximum RM10. So we worth maximum RM10 only!! OH, and we have to do cat-walks on the Wednesday during auction and during the Friday's dinner with our master as our partner of the night. So what if a girl bid me? Than I'll have to be a lesbian for the Friday dinner? That sounds so wrong.
Before I end my post, I would like to ask if anyone can help me to sell off my A Levels' books. I need money desperately for my law book.
Love,
Nichole @ Lai Yin
