Updates on me

During this few months holiday, everyone seems to be busy.

Amanda working as a primary school teacher;
Roxy working in a firm as the person who photocopy tons of paper and bring in Chinese tea to the boss;
Michelle working as a promoter at Parkson;
William helping out at his mom’s shop;
Pui Yee working as a tutor;

For me, I’m leading a life of a bummer during weekdays and a life of Tai Tai during weekend.

Weekdays

Wake up by 6.45am; drive Lai Ming to her school, than off to mountain climbing and jogging at Gasing Hill. Finish by about 9.30am and went home for shower and take a nap till 12noon. If I’m too lazy to do exercise, I’ll just head home and continue to sleep after dropping Lai Ming at CHS. Usually, I’ll wake up by 11.30am as mommy usually will dump Baby on my bed to wake me up.
I’ll than leave home by 1pm to pick Lai Ming up from school. Some times we’ll have lunch at Meatball’s coffee shop or have mamak. Some times, we’ll have left over for lunch as well, too lazy to cook or buy. After lunch? Read novel in my air-condition room with a cup of nice tea or coffee. As promise to my parents, I practice my guitar as well. After left out for one year plus, I had forgotten every single note. So, I started playing those basic scales and everything seems coming back to me again. The after math of practicing guitar for 10 minutes after left out for one year, my left hand’s finger swollen and reddish-purple. I too study. I’m currently trying on my IELTS practice book. Although not even written a word on the book, but at least I read half of the passage and look for the meaning of those words.

But these only lasted me for only maximum 2 hours. Most of my time, I watch Astro, sleep and eat. I get bored of this kind of bummer life after 2 weeks, so I decide to do something. I started thinking hard and using my brain is really a tough job for me. So, I went to grocery shop on behalf of my mom, I end up buying a whole mountain of rubbish. However, during this grocery shopping, I got an idea on what shall I do. BAKING!! Yes, I shall try on new recipes.

So, later on few days, I’m busy. Really busy. I can’t do the decision either to bake Lemon Cold Cheese Cake or the Tiramisu or White Chocolate Almond Short Cake. It took me few days to do the decision. Yes, it’s a tough job for me to use a brain.

When I’m about to start my baking days, Aunty Jessy called. She asks me to work as a part-time cashier at mommy’s cafeteria because she did not manage to hire enough cashiers for time being. Thus, I’m the volunteer cashier at my mom’s cafeteria. Not a fun job. Why? Because I won’t be getting any wages. It’s my mom’s cafeteria!! Haiz, no college = no income = broke = no shopping.

After a week of volunteer work, I’m finally free!! I can finally get to bake my cake.

The first things I bake were chocolate chip cookie. It may be a little over bake, but it’s nice. Even Aunty Jessy and Uncle Keong says so. After cookie, I baked my Lemon Cold Cheese Cake. Yumm….. Now, I’m thinking dad’s favorite butter cake to show my appreciation.

These does not last me long either. So what I do for my free time? The answer is nothing. Really nothing. The only thing I did that is really something is that I finish two books.

This is how I spend my weekday!!

Weekend

As I mention above, I’m leading a life of a Tai Tai during weekends, only that I’m still single, not married to any rich man yet. Wake up early in the morning for mountain climbing and jogging as usual, than drive my dad to the morning market, groom my dogs, sleep, tv, food, SPA, facial, face and hair masks, manicure and pedicure, shopping, attend dinner and more naps.

This coming Friday, I’ll be attending a cocktail dinner and musical performance host by UOA for the launching of Villa Yarl. This coming Saturday noon, I’ll be attending a concert host by The Chinese Orchestra Society of CHS with the theme ‘Butterfly Lover’. This concert main aim is to raise fund for their new instrument. Their old instrument is seriously in bad condition. Moreover, they hardly get sponsorship from the school as the school bias towards the Band. It’s the truth. And Saturday night, we will be having a barbecue party at my place with my parent’s friends.

Does this information enough to make you believe that I’m leading a life of a Tai Tai during weekend?

All I’m doing now is to wait till my English course to enroll. At least I have something to do. And this class does not last long either. It’s only a 5 days course than will be my IELTS exam.

I seriously have nothing to do; I even voluntarily to do grocery shopping, be my family’s driver, clean dogs’ poo etc.

Movie next Tuesday, anyone?

Love,

Nichole @ Lai Yin
