Movie of the Day:
Lake House
----
Remember I told you I watched this Bollywood movie call the Bride and Prejudice in the Sydney's Merriot Hotel room after my dinner about 8 months ago?
Well, I think this movie is so tiring to watch. Bloody 3 hours with sudden dance scene and random sing-along-with-everyone. So typical Bollywood movie. And, being the typical me, I jump to the conclusion that, based on the similarity of the movie's name, Pride and Prejudice is going to be a pain in the ass movie as well. And hence I put no interest in it and I do not even bother to know about it.
Until recently, LM stress so much about some really good movies and keep bugging me to give it a try, including Pride and Prejudice(PnP). My previous assumption stand so strong that I still hesitate. Yesterday, I was in the mid of my date with Mr Tort, I got so stressed and I so wanted to give myself a break from all the words that I've been facing for the pass 5 hours.
So, I waited till middle of the night, where everyone in the middle of their sweetest dreams, I put on the movie and my head-phone. I fell in love with the movie almost immediately. The scene is so spectacular. The orchestra symphony plays along with the plot behind the movie, so softly but yet every notes flew into my ears so clearly.
The story, main plot, is about the same as Bride and Prejudice (BnP). But, it is yet so different. To name a few, BnP's time scene is modern, as for PnP is the older one. BnP is mainly in India's city and some scene in the States. PnP mainly in Heartfordshire and London, England, I think. I am very bad in giving words to the movie. What I could say is, my previous assumption has vanished. I am so in love in the movie. I even have this secret tiny crave of learning the piano and living in their house and that year.
Towards the end of the movie where Elizabeth getting the consent of her father to get engage with Mr Darcy, the words Mr Bennet (Eliz's father) spoke to his daughter, it is so full of tender and father love. I got so touched and I tears when Eliz kissed Mr Bennet's forehead and ran out of the room. The orchestra symphony played during the credit roll, got me into more tears. As to my knowledge, none of anyone I know cried after watching this movie. Guess I am a little to sensitive am I?
What I'm trying to say is, watching BnP makes me laugh so hard at it's sudden dance and group song, plus the hell tiring 3 hours, it is such a pain to watch. Except for the main plot, it is such irony as compared to PnP.
So, I hereby announce my future plan, firstly, the moment I got the chance, I am so going to attend the orchestra performance as often as I can. Secondly, I will, again, pick up my piano class from where I dropped it. It won't be too late as long as I live. When there's a will, there's a way they say. But this plan of mine will have to wait till I finish my LLB, came back from UK, got myself a 9-5 job and with enough-to-cover-all-my-plan salary.
Wish me luck people.
And, go watch Pride and Prejudice. But if you insist, or have a little too much extra time to spend, go ahead and give Bride and Prejudice a try.
Love,
Nichole
