Day 8
28-06-2008 (Saturday)
We woke up early in the morning and had our breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Normal ordinary hotel buffet breakfast. Can't expect much even if it is Merriot. We then took ferry to the Taronga Zoo.
The zoo is humongous. And, we have to take a ride of cable-car to start the exploration from the top of the zoo.
Let the pictures speak.
Before the exploration, Peter asks us, what's our favorite animal, or any animal that desire to see. I answer GORILLAS!!! After exploring the whole zoo, Peter ask, so which animal you like most after visiting? My answers THE SUPER DUPER BIG GORILLA!!!!
The zoo keeper says, this breed of bear is the biggest breed. You think this is big? Her husband is half the size bigger than her. But unfortunately, he died of old age last month.
Remeber Timon and Pumbaa from the Disney's Lion King? There are lots of Timon in Taronga Zoo. And I caught one having sun bath.
Peter's favorite, Melaya Tapir.
What can this innocent looking thing do?
After zoo, we went back to the hotel and refresh ourselves and then dinner at Tony Roma's.
Day 9
29-06-2008 (Sunday)
We have our breakfast in our room. It is box breakfast. But they did not inform us that it is cold as well. Sigh.
We took ferry to this Island which I can't remember the name. They have some flee market there. And they have a beach as well. We shopped around, to be exact, LK shopped, we have ice cream and back to Sydney city again.
In Sydney city, we explore the city, more shopping and we also visited Sydney version of pasar malam. But this is in noon. They sell all kind of thing from home hame chili sauce to plant. Around evening, we went back to the hotel and start packing. We checked out from the hotel, hop in a taxi and off to China Town for dinner.
We had dinner in this small restaurant that serve traditional ShangHai food. It is good okay!! What is funny is that remember the crappy chinese dumpling restaurant? It is just opposite this restaurant. If we took the trouble and walk a little more, we won't be having some tasteless dumpling.
After dinner, we hired a taxi to the air port. We have Krispy Kream as snack and back to Melbourne.
Day 10
30-06-2008 (Monday)
One free day AGAIN. We did not go anywhere. We stay at home and watched DVDs again.
We visit Peter's grandparents after LK and Peter came back from work. They prepared supper for us. A table of cakes and cookie. I especially love Grandma's powder puff. Yumm....
Day 11
01-07-2008 (Tuesday)
We went to city and had lunch. We walked almost the whole city and yet not time to meet up with LK.
We went to the mall next to RMIT and we sat there. We did nothing but bought ourselves some scratchy. Not even a dollar won. We then walk in a book store because we both know well that book store is the only place where we can spend most of our time.
Finally LK called us. We walk to her office, meet up with her and walk to Peter's office to meet up with him. Then, we had dinner at KFC and off to watch Aussie football match. My very first live match!!!
Day 12
02-07-2008 (Wednesday)
Our last day in Melbourne. We clean the house as a token of appreciation to LK and Peter. We walk to Westfield to replace their grocery which we used up theirs. We pack our bags and ready to fly home. LK called us and ask us to take the train to city for dinner. Peter could not join us because he has a party to attend. LK brought us to a Korean restaurant and indulge us with
Korean food which we wont get to try in Malaysia.
Oh well, we left Melbourne with heavy heart.
And that's the end of our holiday!!!
Love,
Nichole
